Calling it a “matter of justice,” Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill that will increase California’s minimum wage to $10 an hour over the next three years. California’s minimum wage will gradually increase from the current minimum of $8 an hour to $9 on July 1, 2014, then to $10 on Jan. 1, 2016. This is apparently one of the highest rates in the United States.
In comparison, Colorado’s current minimum wage is $7.78. The federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.
